A Psychiatrist is a medical doctor who has specialized in treatment of mental illness with
medication.

A Psychologists treats mental illness and psychological issues through a Biopsychosocial
Model using evidence based techniques that mainly focus on a clients’ thought processes, emotional awareness, relationship/social issues, spiritual and cultural issues
that may be contributing to psychological distress or wellness.

Psychotherapy is a collaborative process between a therapist and a client where a client
held in unconditional positive regard is in charge of their experiences and a therapist uses
psychological approaches to create awareness to client about their issues, possible triggers
or causes and maps out ways of resolving them.

No, that requires specialized training which we haven’t undertaken.

We know the medication given for mental illness such as depression, anxiety, mood
disorders, ADHD, psychosis, but we are not trained to prescribe. When we pick the need
for medication, we work collaboratively with Psychiatrists whom we refer our clients to.
They also refer clients to us for psychotherapy
